Purebred Arabian Horse Championship in Menton

Gorgeous pure blood Arabian horses from all parts of the world gather in Menton. Copyright Jan Kan The annual purebred Arabian horse ‘Best in Show’ competition will take place Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July in Menton. Arabian horses are a distinct and popular breed of horses – recognisable for their strikingly chiselled head, gracefully arched neck and high tail carriage. Originally bred in the Arabian Peninsula in 1500BC, this breed is one of the oldest in the world.

The most skilled and distinguished Arab horses will arrive in the City of Lemons for one of the biggest and most competitive competitions of its kind. The championship is one of the major events of the horse season and the winners will automatically gain a place at the prestigious Arabian Horse World Championship in Paris in December 2017.

The qualifying classes will run from 2.30pm until 8pm on Saturday and 9am until 12.30pm on Sunday. The championship will take place from 3pm until 7.30pm on Sunday. The competition is open to all with tickets priced at 5€ on Saturday and 10€ for Sunday. Whether you’re an avid horse fan, a breeder, or simply in the area at the right time the Arabian Horse Championship is not to be missed. Tickets can be bought at the door.
