Results of the French parliamentary elections

Emmanuel Macron's party La Republique en Marche wins majority Six out of nine districts in the Alpes-Maritimes have voted in a left-wing Les Republicains candidate in the second round of France’s parliamentary elections. In the remaining three districts (called circonscriptions in French) candidates from new president Emmanuel Macron’s beat back opposition from the Front National. For the Var, just two out of eight districts supported Les Républicains’ MPs while five seats went to En Marche candidates and the final district going to a Mouvement Démocrate - La République en Marche politician. 

The rate of abstention was considerably high at 57.87% in the Alpes-Maritimes and 59.24% in the Var.
