Summer is barely over, but some of us are already looking forward to the winter! This week, along with the first fews flakes of snow falling on the mountains of the Mercantour, ski stations Isola 2000 and Auron have announced their opening dates.
Isola 2000 will open its pistes on Saturday 2nd December. The resort released a video on Tuesday 19th September of snowfall in the village and on the nearby slopes. The snow isn’t expected to stick for long, however, as the bout of cold air from Eastern Europe that we are currently experiencing will only last until the weekend.
Auron will launch its season a week later on Saturday 9th December. Tourism representative from the station Pascal Lequenne has told local press that they also aim to open the same weekend as Isola 2000 if conditions are good.
