Tricky Tuesday: a day of widespread strikes

If Tuesday 10th October is going to be a day of travel for you, then Riviera Insider highly recommends that you verify the status of your train or plane journeys before leaving the house…

Flight cancellations out of Nice Airport are expected to be among the most affected in France by worker walk-outs while delays and cancelled TER and TVG connections on the SNCF network should also be anticipated.

The DGAC parent union has called on airlines to reduce flights by up to 30% in airports around France: Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris-Orly, Beauvais, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes and Nice. The strikes are ‘interprofessionelle’ and will involve workers represented by the USAC-CGT, FO, UNSA and CFDT unions.

On the railway, strikes are taking place from 7pm on Monday 9th October to 8am on Wednesday 11th October. Various services will be cancelled on the Les Arcs – Cannes – Nice – Ventimiglia line (click here for information) and on the Nice – Breil – Tende line (click here for information).
